still sohc, going from #12 to 400. Sadly haven't done this yet, the cam has been sitting on the dining room floor. Really should address this first. The main reason I was thinking about the 2.4 swap anyways.

do it, its a fun swap thats not really hard at all. it would be like driving a stratus around...id say from experience and whe i went through if i was to go through it all again build it for a n/a build and maybe add nitrous later. it will stil be pretty quick and with far fewer parts under the hood and headaches to deal with,.

Since Crane went out of buzz... then any set of Cranes over #18 are almost extinguished or for sale @ a stupid & ridiculous high prices... you can go and get a set of Crower Cams. Theres like 3 stages. look for them @ ModernPerformance. Stage 1 & 2 are something to Crane #18... different lifts and durations. Most of the ppl going 2.4L go Stage 3 but serious drivers go stage 4.

For DD stage 2 or 3 its ok !! IMO

P.D. Crane is back!! But not going custom grinds. For DOHC got from 12 to 18. For SOHC got from 10 - 14.

it is sad that this thread is nearly 1 year old and I still never came around to doing things. if that isn't procrastination, I don't know what is but at least I have parts gathered.

Well, I finally got up and dropped off ELMO with the mechanic yesterday. Hopefully, I'll have her back by this weekend. Sucks driving a 08 cobalt around, already miss the Tao (old timers know what i mean)

well, it is the end of an era, I got tired of stuff going wrong here and there and need something more reliable since I now commute to my job rather than a 10 min drive like I had in the past. I shall be posting up parts within the next week. Anyone have any experience with these "cash for junk car" dealers?

They give u crap for what ur car is worth and then just g sell it to the junkyard. Just take it to the yard urself. City run scrap places tend to be best. Sell aftermarket parts off of it.
